On May 4th we held our New Member Orientation Program. Fourteen of our 33 new members attended this event. I want to express the club’s appreciation to Nan Tripp and Carol Cook for providing information folders about our Club for each new member. I also want to thank Diane Bicjan for preparing the Power Point presentation. A thank you also goes to Carol Kosydar, Dominic Giachino, and Margaret Field for setting up refreshments for the attendees.
A special appreciation goes to the following speakers: 2nd VP Dominic Giachino who spoke about his areas of responsibility; 3rd VP Margaret Field who spoke about her areas of responsibility; Mike Boivin, Jr., Chair of the Computer Learning Facility, who spoke about the upcoming computer classes; Wanda
Bell, Chair of the Travel Committee, who spoke about our Travel opportunities; Carol Kosydar, Chair of the Helping Hands Committee, who spoke about the
Helping Hands and the Food Service Committees; and Marcia Richards who spoke about the Decorating Committee.
Several new members signed up to volunteer for different committees. Thank you for volunteering to serve our Club. I have given your names to the Chairs of those committees and they will be in contact with you.
One of our Special Luncheons was also held in May, the 88+ Birthday celebration. Around 50 of our Birthday honorees attended. Millie Lindenberger, our Food Service Committee Chair, did an outstanding job coordinating this special event. A great time was had by all. I was very disappointed that we had to cancel our May 31st Trip to the Black Hills of S.D. I had signed up to go.
It is my prayer that this summer will be very special to all of our members – keep safe and stay cool.!! Count your many blessings – birthday by birthday!
