LSFC Committees

As you can see from the list below, we have numerous committees and activities in which members may participate. If you are interested in serving on a particular committee or activity, please see the officer responsible for the group of committees and/or activities in which you are interested.

List of Committees:

  • Computer Lab – Develops computer training lessons and conducts training sessions
  • Decorating – Purchases decoration material and decorates for general meetings and special events
  • Entertainment – Arranges for entertainment for meetings and special occasions
  • Food Service – Arranges for catered meals and provides coffee, donuts, bagels and desserts at club meetings and/or special occasions, maintains paper goods and utensil supplies necessary for foods, cleans up after meetings and picks up donated food from local stores
  • Fund Raising – Arranges fund raising events, sells raffle tickets and pull tabs
  • Helping Hands – maintains inventory of medical equipment for loan to members. Sends cards and contacts ill or injured members. Visits hospitals and nursing homes. Attends wakes and funerals.
  • Host & Hostess – Greets arrivals on meeting days and special events and maintains our sign-in book
  • LSFC Choir – Sings in club’s chorus at meetings
  • Membership – Processes new member applications, collects dues, issues membership cards and name badges, maintains computer records on members and prepares the annual roster
  • Newsletter – Develops and arranges printing of the club newsletter, prepares labels and fliers for club events
  • Newsletter Distribution – Folds, labels and mails monthly newsletter
  • Office – Runs club office from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm daily, assists members with travel arrangements, special events and membership, and maintains club files
  • Program – Arranges for speakers for meetings and special occasions
  • Publicity – Develops and issues press releases to local newspapers
  • Special Occasions – Plans and organizes events, i.e. 85+ luncheon, special parties/occasions, new member orientation program and obtains or creates invitations, name tags and gifts
  • Telephone – Calls members to acknowledge their birthday and notifies them of special occasions, deaths and other club information
  • Travel – Plans and arranges club travel, collects and disburses monies, registers travelers and acts as tour leader as necessary
